The good looking ones down here don't look tica, lots of american and european blood. If they look tica, they are usually darker. These girls are lite complexioned, this is the trend here. Blue eyed babies and blond hair. Girls down here will PAY YOU to bed down with them if you have blue eyes and blond hair. Just to have a baby with the same traits as gringos.
Though there are ticas that are naturally tanned. Now there is a strong Nicaraguan influence. If you see ticas that are darked skinned, you may be confusing them with Nicas.
Also, Costa Rica has always had a strong European influence. It has always been like this, if you go to town like Grecia, Atenas or Zarcero, you would find more ticas with light colored eyes, or blond hair.

You say the "darker skinned Nicas", most are, my wife is Nica and she's so lite she's almost transparent. Blue eye'd to boot. Her daughter, who you can see on the website, www.vetsbets.com and scroll down to the "Generals Package", there, you'll see Shelley is dark, typical Nica. Beautiful girl, my step-daughter, but dumb as post. Sorry to say that, but it's an on going battle in our house, trust me.
